AUTOMATING & INTEGRATING RESIDENTIAL SYSTEM {DHTS 400}

Introduction

dhti100

The final course in the DHTI (Digital Home Technology Integration) series is the Automating and Integrating Residential Systems. This course takes all the previous learned DHTS skills and combines them together in a final course.

Once students have experimented and learned the fundamentals of several subsystems within a home, they will need to understand how to integrate all of them together for ‘whole-house’ automation. Heathkit’s Automating and Integrating Residential Systems introduces students to the various ‘controllers’ and devices used for integrating each subsystem into one centrally controlled system.

While a strong focus was placed on data distribution, audio and video systems, telephone and network distribution, and security in the previous course, other subsystems also have an important position in the fully automated home. These systems include lighting, HVAC control and water systems. Students will receive an overview of each these topics, and learn what hardware and components are available to the DHTI installer.
