COMPONENT RECOGNITION {EV-3135-A}
Help your beginning students along the path to success in electronics with the EV-3135 Electronic Component Recognition video course.
This course covers a variety of components including resistors, capacitors, inductors, diodes, transistors, and integrated circuits. The course demonstrates how to read the electrical properties of each component and
discusses power handling capablities, prefixes, polarity and the orientation of transistors and ICs.
Course Objectives
- Identify, resistors, capacitors and inductors when shown a group of component drawings.
- State the unit of measure for resistance, capacitance and inductance
- List and describe the functions of a film resistor, a potentiometer, an electrolytic capacitor, a variable capacitor, an inductor and a transformer
- Identify a 1/4-watt, 1/2-watt, 1-watt and 2-watt resistor when given a diagram of components.
- Calculate the tolerance of a resistor in ohms when given it's value and color of the tolerance band on a four-band resistor.
Prerequisites
- None
